Highlights of London

I've neglected to write anything these last few days because we have been going going going without taking a break, which has led me to be completely EXHAUSTED at the end of each day. Last night was by far our most exiting time in London because a royal baby boy was born! As soon as we heard the news, we rushed down to Buckingham Palace to join in the celebrations. Thousands of people were clustered around the gate, all trying to get a glimpse of a small piece of paper containing the birth announcement. I can honestly say that I have never been more squished in my life. After a long while of standing in the crowd, I finally got up to the front to take my pictures. It excites me that in 50 or so years from now, when this baby boy takes the thrown as King, I will be able to tell my children and grandchildren about how I was at Buckingham Palace on the day that boy was born.

One thing that amazes me so much about London is how diverse it is. So far on my journey, I have made friends from Canada, Australia, Germany, Poland, and France, heard the languages of Mandarin, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and many others (I'm assuming, but obviously I wouldn't know since I don't speak them), drank authentic Italian and Ethiopian coffee, and eaten Indian, Thai, French, Mexican, and Chinese food (ironically, I still have yet to eat fish and chips).

There is so much that I have experienced so far that I still haven't written about, such as Greenwich, the Prime Meridian, Duck boat tours, two river cruises, and even more to come later in the week!

  1. Cahner, This is awesome! Is that your dad in the picture above? I am so happy that you and your mother have been able to experience this together. Safe travels back to the US!
