So I had a plan to blog every night about what I did in Greece that day, but that plan went out the window when i discovered how busy our schedule is, plus the fact that it's extremely hard to get wifi in some cases. So IM IN GREECE! Its beyond beautiful so far. We flew into Athens and stayed in the most perfect hotel the first night. The rooftop cafe with the view of the acropolis was the perfect welcome into the country. Our first full day here, we rose very early to go to the Agora. After touring that for about 4 hours, our group of 10 was left to fend for ourselves for the next 7 hours. While our main goal was to not get lost in this foreign city, we were extremely exited that we got to explore on our own. Some things about Greece so far:
1. Dogs roam the streets like wild animals, and they seem to take a special liking to our group. Maybe even the dogs know were American.
2. All 10 of us have decided we dont like the meat here, with the exception of fish. I guess being from Nebraska, we have high expectations for our beef.
3. We have one boy in our group of 10, and the locals asked us if he is either Saudi Arabian and has 9 wives, or is gay.
4. The small coastal towns are much nicer to visit than Athens.
5. Overnight ferries are really fun... just dont eat the food.
Last night we took the overnight ferry to the island of Crete, where will we will be for the next 3 days before flying back to Athens and traveling clockwise around the mainland coast of Greece. Wifi is always in and out but I will try to write as much as I can!
