Tonight was full of surprise and excitement to their fullest extent. The whole night was a sort of going away dinner for my friend Kylie, who will be at camp all summer, returning for two days in the fall, then moving to Florida for school. We started by having dinner at O's Dining and Lounge, which serves a mix of French, Japanese, Chinese, and American food. I've never heard of a restaurant that offers so many different types of food all in one place, but I must say that it was extremely good. After dinner we headed over to Rick's Boatyard where we found a little rinky dink carnival. We didn't ride any rides but it was fun to just walk around and people watch.
The best part of the night however, came when we walked across the Omaha pedestrian bridge. While on the bridge we met a man named Daniel who is currently biking across the US. He started about a week ago in Chicago and is making his way to San Francisco. He camps in a tent where ever he can find land at night, and bikes all through the day. We asked him so many questions about his travels so far, his future plans, and all about what its like to travel across America. Talking to him got me that much more exited about my own travels to Europe this summer and the Route 66 road trip that my mom and I are starting to plan for next spring. You can follow Daniels travels at bikebigorgohome.wordpress.com !! Hope everybody had a lovely first week of summer!

Your Friend,
